2022 Field Recordings "Super Gnario" (Santa Barbara, CA) 3R

Super Gnario is a Central Coast tribute to the classic wines of Italy's Langhe region, blending flavors of dusty cherry, raspberry, blackberry, cherry bark, and thyme in a uniquely delightful manner that marries Italian tradition with Californian flaire.

    About The Varietal

    Nebbiolo

Nebbiolo is the prominent grape variety responsible for the high-quality red wines found in northwestern Italy, especially the robust reds of Barolo and Barbaresco. These wines are often characterized by a unique aroma that combines scents of "tar and roses." Nebbiolo wines typically exhibit moderate body, robust tannins, elevated acidity, and are highly sought after, often commanding premium prices.

    About The Producer

    Field Recordings

Winemaker Andrew Jones has a talent for discovering hidden gems—vineyards that are often overlooked but have immense potential. He focuses on crafting distinctive wines full of character and individuality. As a vine nursery fieldman, Andrew spends his days planning and planting vineyards across California, and occasionally, farmers offer him small lots of their finest fruit. With experience in nearly every vineyard on the Central Coast, he is passionate about finding and nurturing these underappreciated sites. Andrew creates limited amounts of soulful wine through his connections and opportunities from these unique, often unheralded vineyards.
