2021 Vietti "Perbacco" Langhe Nebbiolo (Piedmont, IT) 3R

This is a light-bodied expression of the famous Nebbiolo grape, blended to be more approachable and easy-drinking than fuller-bodied expressions of the wine. This wine is very food-friendly, and in fact, needs food to be truly expressive. Expect a brightly acidic wine with an almost red tea-like quality thanks to a blend of fruit and herbaceousness. Does not need additional aging like more robust Nebbiolo wine often does.

    About The Varietal

    Nebbiolo

Nebbiolo is the prominent grape variety responsible for the high-quality red wines found in northwestern Italy, especially the robust reds of Barolo and Barbaresco. These wines are often characterized by a unique aroma that combines scents of "tar and roses." Nebbiolo wines typically exhibit moderate body, robust tannins, elevated acidity, and are highly sought after, often commanding premium prices.

    About The Producer

    Vietti

Situated in the heart of the Langhe hills at the peak of Castiglione Falletto village, Vietti winery was established in the late 1800s by Carlo Vietti. Over time, the estate expanded, now encompassing some of the most esteemed vineyards in the Barolo and Barbaresco regions. In 2016, the Krause family acquired the winery, allowing Vietti to incorporate several coveted Barolo and Barbaresco crus into its vineyard portfolio.
