However unlike the bold, oaked, bombastic wines of that style, this wine draws from the more classic stylings of Chianti Classico, focusing on varietal purity, with deep botanical aromas from the Cab Franc, and lush fruit from the Merlot. Neutral oak and lighter bodied, but with muscular tannins, you’ll definitely do well to have this with a burger!
About The Varietal
Super Tuscan wines originated in the 60s as an act of rebellion by winemakers frustrated with the rules and labeling terms around local wine production. These wines are blends of Sangiovese and international varietals, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot, among others.
