2020 Eva Fricke "Kiedrich" Riesling (Rheingau, DE) 4W

The estate encompasses 10 hectares of vineyards in the Rheingau, with 7 hectares currently in production, primarily planted with Riesling grapes. The Kiedrich Riesling is sourced from various vineyard plots surrounding the village of Kiedrich. This dry Riesling exudes flavors of kumquat and candied citrus fruits, complemented by a lively, steely acidity and nuanced minerality. Its inherent power is striking, harmonizing flawlessly with its intense flavors. Pair with sauerkraut and apples alongside an assortment of wursts for a delightful culinary experience.

    About The Varietal

    Riesling

Regarded as one of the finest white wine varieties globally, the aromatic and fresh Riesling often navigates between the pristine purity of its German expressions and the intricate complexities of its Alsatian counterparts. Its worldwide presence spans a range of styles, from dry to sweet, defying easy categorization and frequently exceeding simplistic judgments at all levels.

    About The Producer

    Eva Fricke

Eva Fricke runs one of Rheingau's most admired wineries and operations. Raised in a family of doctors in Bremen, Germany (a region known more for wine than beer), Eva had no interest in following in her family's footsteps and went to the Rheingau to study wine. After spending time in Australia, Bordeaux, and Ribera del Duero, her home in Germany called her back. Over the years, Eva has grown and cared for her organic vineyards, turning a humble project into one of the best in the region. Her single-vineyard Rieslings are some of the most exquisite and honest expressions of the terroir on the market.
